Digipak - day four

Today i have to find an image to put onto the cd itself, it has to be a lightbulb as that is the image that we have decided on as a group, we have decided to use a lightbulb as it is quirky and it not usually used in this kind of situation, we like the idea of this because this way it is original and if people see this then they will know its Orson just because its original.

I had to start off by finding an image on google of a cartoon lightbulb, it wasn't too hard as not a lot of people take pictures of real light bulbs!
So i went through the first page of google and went through all of the images of lightbulbs to try and find one that looked cartoony but not so cartoony that you can't tell what it actually is.
I had to decide on the one that i felt fitted in with the ideas we had the most and i decided to use the one in the screenshot because it is fun and cartoony but you can tell its a lightbulb. I then saved it into my files and imported it into photoshop.

Once i had imported it into photoshop i realised that it has a white background, i want it to look professional and not like an amateur has done it so i needed to remove the background off of the image.
To remove the background from an image i had to go to the magic wand tool, select the area i wanted to remove the background from and then click the little tick at the top of the window.

This is what the cd cover looks like with the lightbulb and the text, i think that removing the background from the lightbulb makes a huge difference and makes it look a lot more professional than it would of with the background still on it, it would of made the whole thing look bad.
